Threee great causes: Coats for Kids, The Campaign for People with Intellectual Disabilities, and EVkids (After covering the cost of holding the dance (caller, musicians, hall), net proceeds are split amongst the three above charities).
Community Shindig: Bring your friends or just bring yourself to our traditional public contra dance! No fancy footwork needed to attend, just come, enjoy the friendly camaraderie, dance to live fiddle music and see everyone’s smiling faces! No need to bring a partner, nor have past experience, just know how to have one heck of a great time!
Live Music by: Full Tilt. Carol Bittenson on fiddle and Debby Knight on piano are a hot musical duo emphasizing Quebecois, Cape Breton, and Irish contra dance musical tunes! They are not to be missed!
Caller: Don Heinold. Hailing from Rhode Island, Don has been calling at dances, weddings, and parties all over New England for over 14 years. Don was the organizer of Mostly Waltz RI and is often asked for private waltz lessons!
Admission: $15 suggested donation per person, or $10 for students per person!
Parking: plenty of well-lighted parking behind the Arlington K of C building. Enter by walking around the side of the building via Prescott St. to 15 Winslow St.
Clothing & Footwear: Clothing is casual. Please wear shoes that move easily on the floor (rubber soled sneaker are discouraged but some do wear them even though it makes dancing harder).
