Stefano Baldan
Stefano Baldan spielt ein abwechslungsreiches Balfolk Repertoire, gespeist aus zeitlosen, traditionellen Stücken, Covers und Eigenkompositionen. Er liebt es zu experimentieren, das Alte mit dem Neuen zu verbinden, auf der Suche nach einer feinen Balance zwischen Tradition und Innovation.
Mit irischer Mandoline, Gesang, Stomp Box, und elektroakustischen Effekten kreiert er einen ansprechenden und energetischen Mix, der garantiert die Füße in Bewegung bringt.
Im Dezember 2021 veröffentlichte er sein zweites Solo Album „Ancora“. Einen Vorgeschmack gibt es auf Spotify.

Wenn Javallon zum Tanz aufspielt, kann sich kaum jemand der ansteckenden Spielfreude der drei Musiker entziehen. Sie nehmen das Publikum mit auf eine musikalische Reise durch Frankreich:
Auf eine temperamentvolle Bourrée aus der Auvergne folgt ein gemütlicher Schottisch aus dem Berry, ein Rondeau aus der Gascogne erzählt die Geschichte einer heimlichen Liebschaft, ein sehnsuchtsvoller Pariser Walzer lädt zum Träumen ein, bevor ein baskischer Fandango den Tänzern in die Beine fährt.
Mal dominiert dabei die durchdringende, treibende Drehleier, mal beflügelt das variationsreiche Zwiegespräch zwischen Geige und Akkordeon die Tänzer, und wer noch immer zögert, den lockt eine klare Stimme zum An Dro.

Jan Budweis — Den ersten Unterricht auf der Gitarre erhielt ich mit 14 Jahren. Mich faszinierte die Klangerzeugung auf Instrumenten aller Art schon als Kind. So erlernte ich das Spielen verschiedenster Instrumente, teils im Unterricht, teils autodidaktisch: Fagott, Viola da Gamba, Saxophon, Dudelsack, Drehleier. Ausserdem beschäftigte ich mich mit dem Bau von Musikinstrumenten und wurde später Klarinettenbauer. In den 1980er Jahren eröffnete sich mir durch den Volkstanz eine neue Welt. Dann entdeckte ich meine Liebe für das Diatonische Akkordeon, die bis heute anhält.
Vivien Zeller — Nach 13 Jahren klassischer Ausbildung habe ich mit 17 Jahren die traditionelle Tanzmusik entdeckt und habe dort gefunden was ich schon lange gesucht hatte. Verbundenheit von Musik, Tanz und Variation. Diesen alten wunderschönen Melodien Leben einzuhauchen, sie zum grooven zu bringen und die Verbindung zu den Tänzern zu spüren fasziniert mich nach wie vor.
In kurzer Zeit habe ich über schwedische, dänische und irische Folkmusik zur traditionellen Tanzmusik Deutschlands, besonders Norddeutschlands gefunden. Hier fühle ich mich am meisten zu Hause und immer wieder gehe ich auf Entdeckungsreise in die Archive, um neue handschriftliche Notenbüchern von Tanzmusikern des 17.- 20. Jahrhunderts im deutschsprachigen Raums zu finden.
Immer auf der Suche nach Inspiration und Perfektion, reise ich durch Europa, um auf Kursen, Konzerten und Sessions verschiedene traditionelle und neue Spieltechniken zu erlernen, die mein aktuelles Spiel befruchten und weiterentwickeln können.

Tanzworkshop „Walzer spezial“

„Man könnte sich vorstellen, dass die Musik eine Geschichte erzählt und das tanzende Paar zwei Künstle*Innen sind, die diese Geschichte auf dieselbe Leinwand malen.“
Du liebst Walzer und willst noch mehr davon tanzen, noch schneller, noch runder, noch flüssiger – ohne Kollision?
Dich interessiert, wie man eigentlich beim 5er Walzer das Austanzen der Schritte mit dem „lazy“- Schritt kombiniert?
In diesem Workshop wird Line mit einer Speed-Einführung als Erinnerung beginnen, so dass im Anschluss den Themen Schwung und Geschwindigkeit, Achtsamkeit im Raum und Schrittvariationen im 5er Walzer Platz gegeben wird.
Der Workshop richtet sich an Personen, die bereits Valse tanzen und sich weiterentwickeln möchten, sowie Menschen ohne Vorkenntnisse, die sehr geübt darin sind, neue Schritte zu erfassen.
Über Line:
Ich war immer in Bewegung, daher habe ich meine Wurzeln im Modern Dance, Tango und Contact, aber vor allem: im Balfolk. Es ist mein Zuhause, seit ich 12 Jahre alt bin, und jetzt genieße ich es, Balfolk in ganz Europa zu tanzen. In den Kursen wechsle ich immer die Rollen, um zu verstehen, wie das Tanzen aus verschiedenen Positionen funktioniert. Außerdem bin ich überzeugt davon, dass Tanzen auch politisch ist, so dass ein Rollenwechsel uns auch erlaubt, zu lernen, was es bedeutet, für mehr als nur mich selbst verantwortlich zu sein, die Kontrolle abzugeben und sich an jemand anderen anzupassen.

Entstanden aus der Faszination für den Klang von Zupfinstrumenten und der Freude an der Improvisation, ist ihre Musik eine Mischung aus energiegeladenen und subtilen BalFolk-Tänzen, inspiriert von skandinavischer Tradition, keltischem Folk und Rock, die sich alle für einen zünftigen Abend mit BalFolk und Unfug eignen.
Zunächst als Duo G2 von Jan Gałczewski und Michał Górka begonnen, spielt das Bandprojekt nun um ein „G“ erweitert als Trio G3 zusammen mit dem Flöten- und Pfeifenspieler, Balfolk-Komponisten und alten Freund der Band Jakub „Goldfinch“ Szczygieł. Alle drei Musiker treten auch im Rahmen der Band Light Migrations gemeinsam auf und sind in verschiedenen weiteren Folkbands aktiv. (z.B. Balsam , Beltaine, Daj Ognia)

Das Duo Bothe-Molzahn (Erlangen, Jena) sorgt mit Spielfreude, Kreativität und mitreißender Leidenschaft bei Balfolk-Tänzern stets für unvergessliche Tanzabende – und gewinnt ebenso Ohr und Herz nichttanzender Zuhörer:innen!
Mit Andreas Bothe an diatonischem Akkordeon und Percussion und Uwe Molzahn an der Violine fanden und ergänzen sich zwei Folkbegeisterte, die an moderner Spielweise, rhythmischen Akzenten und Improvisation sichtlich ihre Freude haben. So erklingen viele ihrer Stücke nie genau so, wie beim Bal zuvor, sind immer etwas einmalig… denn die Intuition des Augenblicks bestimmt ihr intensives Zusammenspiel häufiger als man vermuten mag!

Warum nicht im Oderbruch – wo morgens die Sonne über Deutschland aufgeht und im Frühjahr die Kraniche tanzen – den BalFolk voranbringen? Dachte sich das Trio Basta nach einigen Auftritten bei offenen Ateliers. Und – oh Wunder- wurde aus dem Trio ein Sextett und hatte im Herbst ’22 seine Premiere beim TFFO vor dem Trebnitzer Schloss und erfreut seither mit luftigen Arrangements und bodenständigem Groove.

Wenn Javallon zum Tanz aufspielt, kann sich kaum jemand der ansteckenden Spielfreude der drei Musiker entziehen. Sie nehmen das Publikum mit auf eine musikalische Reise durch Frankreich:
Auf eine temperamentvolle Bourrée aus der Auvergne folgt ein gemütlicher Schottisch aus dem Berry, ein Rondeau aus der Gascogne erzählt die Geschichte einer heimlichen Liebschaft, ein sehnsuchtsvoller Pariser Walzer lädt zum Träumen ein, bevor ein baskischer Fandango den Tänzern in die Beine fährt.
Mal dominiert dabei die durchdringende, treibende Drehleier, mal beflügelt das variationsreiche Zwiegespräch zwischen Geige und Akkordeon die Tänzer, und wer noch immer zögert, den lockt eine klare Stimme zum An Dro.

Inspiriert von der traditionellen europäischen Musik, hat Hartwin seinen eigenen Stil entwickelt. Mit verschiedenen Bands und Projekten tritt er in ganz Europa, Kanada und den USA auf und hat mit seinen Eigenkompositionen ein breites Publikum gefunden.
Sein erstes Soloalbum „Waterman“ enthält zehn Sätze feiner Melodien, die er auf eine zarte, aber berührende Weise spielt. Sie spiegeln die Symbiose von Hartwin und seinem Akkordeon wider; ein Ergebnis des jahrelangen Musizierens und Schaffens.

Höhepunkt: kurze Show der 3-fachen Deutschen Meisterin im RIVERDANCE Nicole Ohnesorge

Patrizia Sieweck und Markus Brandstetter kombinieren traditionellen irischen Folk mit moderner Gitarrenbegleitung, die ihre Wurzeln in Pop, Rock und Jazz hat. Hier trifft Tradition auf Moderne, Jigs, Reels und zeitlose Songs auf überraschende Gitarrenvoicings und treibende Rhythmen. Gelegentlich gibt es auch einen Abstecher in andere europäische Folk-Traditionen wie die französische oder schwedische Volksmusik. Anhören kann man sich einiges auf Patrizia Siewecks Solodebüt „A Wrecker’s Tale“, das die beiden gemeinsam produzierten und auf dem der Gitarrist auf einigen Stücken wie „Upcoming Storm / The Beacon“ auch mitspielte.
Tänzerisch können wir uns freuen auf Jigs, Reels, Hornpipes, Polkas, Polskas,Walzer….einen bunten Mix an europäischen Tänzen, mit irischem Fokus (die französischen Tänze funktionieren hier auch meistens). Das Ganze wird modern und fetzig.

Im Workshop lernen wir Ceilidh Tänze. Also gesellschatliche Tänze in der Gruppe, die jede:r mittanzen kann, weil sie von Grund auf erklärt werden. Es handelt sich meistens um Figuren, die vorab eingeübt werden und die anschließend jede:r mittanzen kann.

Wir sind Drehwurm aus Berlin, Lyon und Erfurt. Uns verbindet nicht nur unsere Nähe zu Dresden, sondern besonders unsere Freude am gemeinsamen Musizieren. Unsere Stücke sind selbstgeschrieben und vielschichtig, wie unsere Liebe zu Zwiebeln. Sie sind geprägt von internationaler Folkmusik (ägyptischen Trolltänzen, Metal,…) sowie von Liedermachern und Holter-die-polter-Polka. Diese Stilrichtungen finden sich in schwindelerregenden Walzern, träumerischen Gavottes, angriffslustigen Bourrees und flott gefiedelten Polkas wieder. Dazu gibt es eigene Texte, inhaltlich gestreut von philosophischen Themen über Landschaftsbeschreibungen bis hin zu Gutenachtliedern. Mit einer Prise Albernheit gestalten wir unsere Musik sowohl tanzbar als auch zum lauschen.

Wenn Javallon zum Tanz aufspielt, kann sich kaum jemand der ansteckenden Spielfreude der drei Musiker entziehen. Sie nehmen das Publikum mit auf eine musikalische Reise durch Frankreich:
Auf eine temperamentvolle Bourrée aus der Auvergne folgt ein gemütlicher Schottisch aus dem Berry, ein Rondeau aus der Gascogne erzählt die Geschichte einer heimlichen Liebschaft, ein sehnsuchtsvoller Pariser Walzer lädt zum Träumen ein, bevor ein baskischer Fandango den Tänzern in die Beine fährt.
Mal dominiert dabei die durchdringende, treibende Drehleier, mal beflügelt das variationsreiche Zwiegespräch zwischen Geige und Akkordeon die Tänzer, und wer noch immer zögert, den lockt eine klare Stimme zum An Dro.

Ein Akkordeon, eine Stimme und selbstgeschriebene Melodien
Mara Menzel spielt seit sie zum 18. Geburstag ein diatonisches Akkordeon geschenkt bekam mit Bands wie „Stimmt so.“, „Searching the Roots“, „Lunesk“ oder „Knopfgemurmel“ zuerst auf Bühnen in Deutschland und dann in Europa. Mit der Zeit sind viele Melodien zu Balfolk-Stücken geworden, sodass sie seit einigen Jahren nun auch mit ihrem Soloset auftritt. In ihren Stücken stecken Geschichten, Lebensfreude und viel Gefühl. Selbst vom Tanz kommend, kombiniert sie ihren Spaß mit der Erfahrung als Musikerin und Tänzerin.
Ihr könnt euch bei ihrem Solo-Konzert auf mehrsprachigen Gesang, viel Spaß, und eine offene und warme Atmosphäre freuen.

„Intim und wortgewandt, virtuos und traditionsbewusst zugleich: ein Ball mit Trio Loubelya ist bewegend. Gleich der Komplizenschaft, die zwischen seinen Mitgliedern von Ball zu Ball auf den Straßen Europas geboren ist. Die erhabene Atmung des Akkordeons beherbergt eine Spielwiese, auf der Klarinette und Saxophon, mal subtil, mal verspielt, die runde Tiefe des Kontrabasses herausfordern. Duo Baragne ist Teil des Vokal-Ensemble ‚La Baragne‘ aus Südfrankreich: Eine Sängerin und ein Sänger, die zu einem Bal quer durch die Occitanie einladen. Die meist eigenen Arrangements schöpfen ihr Repertoire aus dem Erbe der Volkslieder aus der Provence, über das Languedoc und die Auvergne bis in die Gascogne, mit kleinen Abstechern in andere Traditionen.\r

* Was erwartet Euch?
Tanz der von der Tarantel Gebissenen: Mezzogiorno, tiefer italienischer Süden, versunkene Welt von Mythen und Märchen? Keineswegs. Dennoch verspricht der Abend irgendwie ‚magisch‘ und ‚zauberhaft‘ zu werden.
Die rhythmische, spirituelle und vor allem die soziale Energie von Tarantella, Pizzica und Tammurriata beflügelt seit Jahren im italienischen Süden jugendliche Massen. Dazu kommt in Italien ein großes Interesse an europäischem BalFolk – im Norden, aber zunehmend auch im Süden des Landes.
Es gibt also viel „Italianità“ zu entdecken: Beliebte Tänze Norditaliens sowie ein Eintauchen in die Tarantella-Welt des Südens. Und manche vertrauten und beliebten Balfolk-Tänze lassen sich an diesem Abend auch einmal in anderen, italienischen Musikfarben genießen.
Die Ensembles KÖRDEBÖF und I PIZZICATI sind sich durch ihre gemeinsamen Liebe zu Italien begegnet und haben inzwischen viele fröhliche Musizierstunden, Konzerte und Tanz-Sessions zusammen erlebt. In italienisch-deutscher Besetzung laden sie zu einem tänzerisch-musikalischen „giro d’Italia“ ein!

Im Alter von zehn Jahren nahmen ihn seine Eltern erstmals zu einem Folkfestival mit – nun tourt er durch die Tanzsäle Europas, entweder Solo oder mit seinen Bands ‚Wouter en de Draak‘, ‚Geselscap Goet ende Fyn‘ (Alte Musik) und ebenso mit BmB, Androneda und anderen.
Heute ist Wouter Kuyper bei uns als Solo-Musiker zu Gast. Wir erwarten viele seiner eigenen Kompositionen, die auf traditionellen Balfolk-Rhythmen basieren, ob swingendem Scottish, intimer Mazurka, verträumtem Walzer (gerne auch ungerade), rockiger Bourrée, Polka, Polska, Hanter-Dro und vielen anderen.
